I was a little busy to keep an exact count, but we had somewhere between 40 and 50 people show up to the event! CS 1.6, Brood War, and Warcraft III were the big games. We had 3 large prizes; a logitech headset, logitech webcam, and Bawls giftpack, as well as free Bawls energy drink!

Well according to all of the weather websites, Durham will be getting snow all day Friday, the day of the LAN Party. We have set up a poll which we will base our event status, except for the rarity of curtailed operations, here at UNH. Please inform everyone who was planning on attending of this poll.

40 bring-your-own-computer seats for Counterstrike 1.6, Starcraft Brood War, and Call Of Duty 4; as well as Super Smash Brothers Brawl on Wii.
Dell and Alienware will be present with demo computers for all to use. Caffeine, snacks, and loud music will be provided.
The event is first-come, first-serve and we will be capping the amount of computers at 40. Keep in mind we will have Dell demo computers, and Wii for those who will be present without their own PC.
Requirements:
-Licensed copies of each game played
-1 display per computer
-1 audio headset per computer(no speakers please)
-Cat-5 Patch Cable(min 15 feet)
Located in the Mub Entertainment Center on March 28, 2008 with setup starting at 7:00PM until 11:45PM

Do I need a UNH ID?
Yes. This event is sponsored by UNH, so in order to attend, you must be affiliated with the University
Do I have to play all 3 games listed?
No. We have 3 options. One game that is not graphically intensive, one game that is very popular, and one game that is very current, but demands alot of your machine. You may switch games as long as there is an available seat within the other server.
Will there be computers available for people to use who do not bring a computer?
No. There will be Dell computers for demo, but we will not have copies of the games to put them on the network. We will also have Smash Brothers Brawl on a WII with an LCD projector.

The top 2 choices from the poll will be chosen for the two 10 vs 10 matches respectively. Each PC player will be required to bring a personal computer to the event. Keep in mind we will be requiring legal and updated versions of the games to be played. Keep checking for more info and the announcement of the event time and date!

UNH CIS will be partnering with Dell to sponsor a Local Area Network video game night on the campus here in Durham in March. The event will include Console gaming with Wii and Xbox 360, two 10 vs 10 gaming tournaments, a Dell demonstration booth, and lots of caffiene! Please vote in the poll to help decide which PC games will be on the schedule for the night.

UNH LAN Party is a student led event bringing groups of video gamers and their computers together for a night of fun, camaraderie and prizes. There will be free giveaways, raffles interspersed throughout the night and prizes awarded to winning teams and individuals. It will feature several popular games including first person shooters, real time strategy games, and role playing games.

What games are going to be played?
The upcoming event will have the following games:
- CounterStrike: Source
- Call of Duty 4

Do I have to play all of the games?
No. We have options so that if you don't like one game, you can play another. You may switch between games as long as there is an available seat on the other server.

What if I don't have one of the games?
We recommend you purchase the games ahead of time if you want to play them, so that you can get the necessary patches and get all of your settings in order. We may have some copies of the games available for purchase, but this should not be relied on.

We rotate between games each event. We cannot guarantee your specific game will get picked, but we are open to recommendations.
